We are thrilled to share that ChessboArt has once again had the honor of contributing to chess history. Early in January 2026, the eyes of the chess world were turned to Sweden for the inaugural Pia Cramling Cup.
A Tribute to a Legend
Held at the Scandic Continental in Stockholm, this historic rapid tournament was organized by the FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess (WOM) and the Swedish Chess Federation to honor the legendary Grandmaster Pia Cramling. The event ran alongside the traditional Rilton Cup, creating a vibrant atmosphere celebrating women in chess.

Custom Wooden Knights for the Champions
For this special occasion, we moved away from standard cups. The organizers commissioned bespoke wooden Knights—sculptures designed specifically for this event.
Unlike our signature trays, these were custom-sized statuettes featuring dedicated engravings commemorating the 2026 inaugural cup. The Knight piece was chosen to symbolize the nobility and strategic depth of the game, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the tournament.

From Budapest to Stockholm: A Tradition of Excellence
This event marks another significant milestone for our studio. We are proud that our wooden creations are becoming a part of the most prestigious chess festivals in Europe.
Just recently, during the Global Chess Festival 2025 in Budapest, our custom "Queen" trophy was presented to the winner by none other than the strongest female chess player of all time, Judit Polgár.
It is a true privilege that after the Queen trophy in Hungary, our Knights have now found their way to Sweden, handed out by Pia Cramling. Connecting art with the highest level of chess competition is exactly what ChessboArt stands for.
