One face carries the host club's name — "Les Fous de la Vieille Tour" — along with the federation logos for FIDE, the European Chess Union, and the French Chess Federation, engraved into light birch. The reverse face, in ash heartwood, carries the tour's own branding and event dates. It's one board, but it works as both a permanent club fixture and a piece of tournament memorabilia, depending on which way it's turned.
What actually goes on the frame

All of it is laser-engraved in black and white, which means logos need to be high-contrast and vector or high-resolution artwork; we convert them before engraving and check with you if anything needs adjusting first.
Wood choice matters more here than it might seem. Light woods — ash white, birch, ash heartwood, sycamore — give the sharpest contrast for fine text and detailed crests, which is usually what a club or federation logo needs. Darker woods like walnut, wenge, or sapele read more subtly, which some sponsors prefer for a quieter, more understated mark. Because the frame is double-sided, you're not forced to choose: pair a light wood on one face for a crisp club crest, and a darker wood on the other for a softer sponsor mark.
