Do We Ship Wall Chessboards to the USA, Canada & South America? (2026 Update)

International Shipping • USA / Canada / South America • Updated: 2026

Yes — we ship our wall chessboards internationally, including the USA, Canada, and selected destinations in South America. In 2026, deliveries to the USA may take a bit longer due to customs paperwork — but shipments are still running smoothly via FedEx.

Where our boards have landed

This page is not a generic “shipping policy.” It’s a practical overview supported by real destinations: a chess club hall in the USA, private homes, and a Grandmaster who chose delivery over carrying a board in airplane luggage.

What we ship (and what we don’t)

  • We ship: wall chessboards (including bespoke/custom commissions).
  • We ship: vintage & mechanical chess clocks (increasingly popular with US and Canadian customers).
  • We don’t ship: our large wooden easels overseas (it rarely makes sense — they’re widely available locally). The boards, however, are a different story.
Short version: you can buy an easel almost anywhere.
But our wall chessboards — especially bespoke ones — are not something you pick up off a shelf.

Shipping to the USA in 2026: what to expect

We currently ship to the USA through FedEx. Compared to earlier periods, the process can take longer because of customs documentation.

  • Delivery time: may be longer due to customs handling and paperwork.
  • Customs & duties: import duties/taxes may apply in the USA and are generally collected by the carrier or local authorities (varies by destination and classification).
  • Price on site: your checkout price is the product price + shipping. Duties/taxes (if any) are typically extra.
  • Packaging: boards and clocks are packed for international transit; shipping is handled as a trackable courier service.

Tip: If you need an estimate, check your local import rules before ordering (USA duties vary by product classification and can change over time).

Three real destinations

1) Columbia Chess Club (USA)

The most interesting US purchases are often not “collector” orders — they’re practical. Chess clubs use large boards for teaching, group analysis, and community events. It’s one of the best real-world proofs of function.

2) Private homes (USA & Canada)

Most US and Canadian recipients are private customers — families, enthusiasts, and people who want a functional object on the wall. If you send me the children photo URL, I’ll place it here as the anchor image for this section (with perfect ALT and caption).

3) Argentina — GM Robert Hungaski

A delivery choice made by a professional: ship it to Argentina instead of carrying a large board in airplane luggage.

I met GM Robert Hungaski at the Chess Olympiad in Budapest (2025), where he served as the captain of the Argentine national team. Instead of transporting a large board in his luggage, he chose a simpler solution: delivery to Argentina.

That decision captures the practical value of international shipping: when an object is large, precise, and meant to live on a wall, it’s often better to ship it properly than to treat it as baggage.

Bonus: from Europe to Easter Island

Some stories are simply about distance. Here’s one of the farthest:

Do I need to pay customs duties in the USA?

Possibly. Import duties/taxes can apply depending on destination and classification. These charges are typically not included in the product price and may be collected locally.

Yes. We ship both wall chessboards and an increasing number of vintage/mechanical chess clocks internationally.
