ChessboArt Generator Terms of Use

Welcome to the ChessboArt Generator. By accessing or using this tool, you agree to the following Terms of Use.

1. Purpose of the Generator

The ChessboArt Generator allows users to create chess diagrams using the ChessboArt visual style and export them as image files.

The Generator is provided for personal, editorial, educational, and other non-commercial uses only, unless ChessboArt grants a separate written commercial license.

2. Non-Commercial License

Subject to these Terms, ChessboArt grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to generate and use image files created with the Generator solely for non-commercial purposes.

This means you may use generated diagrams, for example, in:

  • private study materials,

  • blog posts with no paid access,

  • school or university presentations,

  • non-commercial articles,

  • free educational content,

  • social media posts that are not primarily commercial in nature.

3. Commercial Use Requires a Separate License

Any commercial use of the Generator output requires prior written permission from ChessboArt.

For the purposes of these Terms, commercial use includes any use that is intended to generate revenue, support a business, promote a brand, sell a product or service, or is connected directly or indirectly with a commercial activity.

Commercial use includes, without limitation:

  • books, ebooks, magazines, or publications sold for a fee,

  • paid courses, memberships, or subscription platforms,

  • advertisements, sponsored materials, or brand campaigns,

  • merchandise, printed products, or digital products for sale,

  • commercial websites, apps, SaaS products, or software,

  • client work, agency work, freelance work, or commissioned projects,

  • use by companies, organizations, publishers, or media businesses in the course of business.

4. No License to the Font Software

Your use of the Generator does not give you any ownership rights in, or license to, the underlying ChessboArt font software, source files, encoding system, generator logic, or related intellectual property.

You may not:

  • copy, extract, download, distribute, sell, sublicense, or modify the ChessboArt font software,

  • use the font outside the Generator without a separate written license,

  • create derivative font files or competing tools based on the Generator or its outputs,

  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, reconstruct, or otherwise access the font software or protected implementation behind the Generator.

5. Attribution

Attribution is appreciated but not mandatory unless otherwise stated by ChessboArt.

When reasonably possible, we kindly ask that you credit the font or generator as:

“Chess diagram generated with ChessboArt”
or
“Font/design by ChessboArt”

6. Watermarks, Branding, and Notices

If any generated output includes a ChessboArt watermark, logo, branding, or notice, you may not remove, obscure, crop out, or alter it unless ChessboArt has expressly authorized you to do so in writing.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Generator or its output:

  • in any unlawful, deceptive, or misleading manner,

  • in a way that infringes any third-party rights,

  • in connection with hate, abuse, harassment, defamation, or illegal content,

  • in any way that suggests ChessboArt endorses you, your brand, or your project without written permission,

  • in any way that violates these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Generator, the ChessboArt name, the ChessboArt visual system, the underlying font, the Generator design, and all related materials are and remain the exclusive property of ChessboArt, unless otherwise stated.

These Terms grant only the limited rights expressly described above. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by ChessboArt.

9. Availability and Changes

ChessboArt may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue the Generator at any time, with or without notice.

ChessboArt may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Generator after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

The license granted under these Terms automatically terminates if you violate any part of these Terms.

Upon termination, you must stop using the Generator output in any manner not permitted under these Terms.

11. Disclaimer

The Generator is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

ChessboArt does not guarantee that the Generator will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for any particular use.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ChessboArt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, revenue, business opportunity, or goodwill arising out of or related to the use of the Generator.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Poland, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
