This is a rare, vintage mechanical chess clock manufactured by Koopman (Dordrecht, The Netherlands). It is a fully functional, authentic piece of chess history, dating back to the early 1950s.
This specific Koopman model is historically significant as it was the official clock used during the 11th Chess Olympiad in Amsterdam (1954). This tournament was a landmark event in chess history, dominated by the "Soviet School of Chess."
Legends who played using this model at the 1954 Olympiad include:
State: Vintage, Used.
Unlike later production runs, this specific unit does not possess the warranty stamp on the bottom of the case.
Observation: It is unclear whether this unit left the factory without a stamp (common in very early production batches) or if the stamp was washed off/faded over the last 70 years. We present this fact simply as a characteristic of this specific item.
