Lead Time

Every piece is made, serviced, or prepared by hand — at a craftsman's pace, not an assembly line.

Exact timing for this specific item is detailed above. As a general guide: Ready to Ship pieces typically leave within 3–8 business days, and boards built through our Configurator take around 6 weeks to make. Worldwide Shipping & Customs

Global Delivery & Safety

We ship our chessboards and clocks worldwide from Poland, with extreme care. Our pieces have safely reached collectors in the USA, Singapore, Argentina, UK, Norway, Ukraine, and throughout Europe. Every order is packed securely to arrive at your doorstep in perfect condition.

Shipping Costs & Customs Duties

Your exact shipping cost is calculated automatically at checkout — no need to contact us first. For a growing number of destinations, we've also taken care of import duties on our side, so what you see at checkout really is the final price, with nothing more to pay when your order arrives.

Where this isn't yet the case, standard customs rules may apply depending on your country — this is shown clearly before you pay, never as a surprise later. If you're ever unsure, or ordering something unusually large or heavy, just ask us — we're happy to check and confirm before you order.

Returns & Satisfaction

We strive for 100% satisfaction.
As an art workshop, we want you to love your chess set. However, please note the distinction between our products:

  • Bespoke & Personalized Items: Because these pieces are crafted specifically to your order (custom size, wood, engraving), they are not eligible for return. They are made exclusively for you.
  • Standard Items: Regular products can be returned within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. In this case, the buyer covers the return shipping costs.

Any issues?
Before you worry about regulations, simply contact us directly. We are people, not a corporation, and we solve problems amicably.

What's included: the board with hand-painted fields in the colour you choose, in ash or American walnut, with hangers. Pieces are optional: choose Board only, solid wood pieces or plywood pieces (32 pieces, with felt bases).

ChessboINK — colour on wood

ChessboINK is our wall chess board with hand-painted fields. The wood grain stays visible and the colour is applied by hand, so the board feels closer to an art print than to classic woodwork. Choose ash or American walnut, then choose the colour of the fields.

Choose Your Colour

Pink, blue, green, or silver and gold on walnut are the colours we paint most often. Want something else? Pick Custom colour and tell us the shade after you order. Every board is made to order, so any colour is possible.

Pieces: Board Only, Solid Wood or Plywood

Select Board only if you already have pieces, or add a full set of 32 magnetic pieces. Solid wood pieces are turned from ash and American walnut and finished with wax. Plywood pieces are lighter and take daily use and drops well. Every piece holds two neodymium magnets and a felt base.

Built for Real Play

800 × 800 mm (31.5 in), high contrast that is easy to read mid-game and on camera, which makes it a favourite for teaching and streamed lessons. A hidden grid of 200 neodymium magnets holds the pieces on the wall. With a full set of 32 pieces the total comes to 264 magnets.

Optional: Personalized Frame

Want a second look for the same board? Add our double-sided, engraved magnetic frame. It snaps onto the board without tools, with a different wood and engraving on each face. Sold separately.

Technical Specifications

  • Board size: 800 × 800 mm (31.5 in)
  • Weight (board only): approx. 4.8 kg. Because the wood is natural, the weight of individual boards can differ by about 10–20%.
  • Wood: ash or American walnut
  • Fields: hand-painted, colour of your choice
  • Pieces (optional): 32 magnetic pieces, solid wood or plywood, felt bases
  • Magnets: 200 neodymium magnets in the board (264 in total with a full set of 32 pieces)
  • Hanging: integrated hanging system
  • Compatibility: works with all ChessboArt magnetic pieces
  • Origin: designed and made in Poland (EU)

Wood grain and hand-painted fields vary slightly from board to board. That is the mark of a handmade piece.

Made to Order and Shipping

Every ChessboINK is painted to order and ships in about 6 weeks. For US orders, import duties are included in the checkout price. Shipping for your country is calculated at checkout.
